The Lamy Xeno is an upcoming ballpoint pen that was announced by the company in June 2020.
On its website materials Lamy calls the pen the “Lamy Xevo” but in all other mentions the pen is the “Xeno” so we will stick with that until its officially launched. The Lamy 2019 catalog image calls the pen the Xeno as well.
The Xeno was design for Lamy by Eric Degenhardt with the goal of being minimalist and a reduced down as possible. This is a typical theme in Lamy’s design but hasn’t been something the company has been as strict about in the last decade (or so).
The pen will be sold in black and white colorways and will be presented in Lamy and stationery stores in an open case with 60 pens out, which means the price will not be that high. We’d expect to see an MSRP of 14.90 euros, just like the Lamy Econ.
The pen is expected to use the Lamy M16 ballpoint pen refill, just like all current Lamy full-size ballpoint pens.
Unlike the Econ, the Xeno appears to be a twist retractable pen, more like the Baron Fig Squire or the Pilot Timeline than the knock-style Econ.
