The Tapli Clip is a retractable ballpoint pen with a recycled plastic body. It’s most commonly sold in 1.0 mm and 1.6 mm, but it can also be purchased in 0.4 mm, 0.5 mm, and 0.7 mm sizes, all of which are sold in blue, black, and red ink. The pen is notable for its exceptional smoothness in the largest widths while still being a traditional ballpoint pen.
The Tapli Clip is a classic retractable ballpoint pen with a button on top. It has a rubber grip which is slightly contoured for comfort and a spring-loaded clip that is similar to that found on the Zebra Sarasa Push Clip gel pen.
The label on the clip of the Tapli Clip is color-coded so that you can know the size by the color of the writing alone:
- 1.6 mm: Purple
- 1.0 mm: Yellow
- 0.7 mm: Black
- 0.5 mm: White
- 0.4 mm: Green
The Tapli Clip is an excellent writer, but it can be a bit smudgy for lefties simply due to how much ink it puts down on the paper. Some people have complained about blobbing and smearing, but that generally isn’t an issue if you are writing carefully, at least no more so than any other super-wide ballpoint or gel pen.
