The Ko-Axis Rail is a small, EDC-friendly machine pen. It has a flat “bookmark shape” that is meant to be easily pocketable or thrown in any bag, kit, car, or purse. The pen has a rugged build that uses titanium or aluminum, based on the model, to keep the weight down.
The Ko-Axis uses a “skeleton” body design with no shell around it — only the structural parts remain. The body is about 6 mm thick and based around two vertical columns, which act as rails for the sliding component on the rails. This is how the D1-sized refill is extended and then protected when not in use. The pen is held open and closed with neodymium magnets.
The Ko-Axis ships with a Monteverde, metal-bodied D1 refill. This being a pen standard, most other D1 refills will fit the pen.
