9 Japan by boutique ink makers Kyoto Kusaki Kenkyusho and Takeda Jimuki. The ink is an interesting black with hints of grey and blue, modeled after the sheen of a person’s dark hair but often compared to the feather of a raven or crow, where it’s clearly black but when seen from an angle can appear bluish.
The ink is from the company’s line of Kyo no Oto, which are designed to follow in the tradition of Japanese colors that have been in use for hundreds of years.
This is a handmade ink so expect some variation from one batch to the next.
The ink is sold through Stationery Tag, a stationary shop in Kyoto (English site).
