The Pental Smash B1000 ballpoint, is the pen counterpart to the much more popular Pentel Smash mechanical pencil. The pen is quite hard to find and often is sold for over $40, despite having a retail price of just 1000 JPY.
The Pentel Smash pen uses a D1 refill, which is odd for a full-sized pen, but makes sense when you examine the interior and see that it’s practically the same as that of the pencil. This is excellent efficiency, but it makes it extra unfortunately that the B1000 pen is no longer made.
