Pilot Iroshizuku Yama-guri is a dark brown ink in the Iroshizuku family of luxury fountain pen inks.
Pilot Iroshizuku Yama-guri is a dark brown with hints of black. It’s known as “wild chestnut” which is a perfect match for the color of the ink and in keeping with the Iroshizuku line’s naming inks after objects in nature.
Yama-guri is one of the darker colors in the line. It has very little shading, good dry times, and easy cleaning. This is a good every day ink if you enjoy writing in brown, and it offers a highly legible, natural tone.
Based on how heavy your pen’s ink flow is, the dark brown can border on black, which is like a a chestnut but does mean that some of the ink’s complexity can be lost. The color is dark enough for professional use and it is easy to read, despite the fact that brown is not a common color for communications.
