Zebra Fortia Cone

Zebra Fortia Cone

The Zebra Fortia Cone was released in March 2019 as the latest release to the Fortia line of Emulsion ink pens. This pen has a conical body, giving it the name, and Zebra’s excellent hybrid ink, by way of the popular EQ-0.7 refill.

The Fortia Cone is sold in 10 colors choices. It uses the Zebra EQ Emulsion hybrid ink, the same that comes in other Fortia pens, like the Fortia 300 and Fortia 500.

Zebra JLV-0.5 Sarasa Dry Gel Pen Refill

The JLV-0.5 is the dye-based gel ink refill sold in the Sarasa Dry pen. This is one of Zebra’s DRYJELL inks, which are dye-based and said to dry up to 85% faster than a traditional link. This makes the refill ideal for left-handed writes as it is highly smudge- and smear-resistant.

The Sarasa Dry is one of the best gel pens so this refill is, as you might suspect, quite good. The JLV combines very good color with fast drying and a smooth writing experience. It is not prone to blobbing and is very smear-resistant.

Zebra G-301 Gel Pen

The Zebra G-301 (often seen as the “G301”) is an affordable gel pen from Zebra’s Steel Series of pens. The G line combines the smooth writing of a gel pen with the metal body and tough aesthetic of the Steel Series.

The “301” in the name means that this is the lower end of the Steel Series lineup. The F-701, for example, has a tougher build and all metal parts. The G-301 has a steel barrel and some metal hardware but still uses a number of plastic parts. Interestingly, despite the G-301 having been around for a number of years, there still is no G-701 pen!

Zebra Sharbo SB-S Multi-pen

Zebra Sharbo SB-S

The Sharbo SB-S is Zebra’s steel multi-pen from from the late 1970s into the 1980s. It’s a 1+1 (pen and a pencil) with a twist selection mechanism — turn left for a pen and right for a pencil.

The Sharbo line from this era is known for it’s intricate grid pattern etched into the steel body (sometimes called a lattice pattern). Then pen also has lacquer work on the clip and around the cap, which is a nice touch and sometimes no manufacturers do today.

Zebra Sarasa Dry Gel Pen

Zebra Sarasa SE vs Sarasa Dry

The Sarasa Dry is a quick-drying gel pen from Zebra’s popular Sarasa line. This set of pens competes directly with the Pilot G2 and Pentel Energel, but adds a bit more style and the quirkiness of Zebra’s designs. The pen is called the “Dry” because it uses quick-drying gel ink. This pen makes the cut as one of the best gel pens on the market today.

The Sarasa Dry is a Japanese model, while the US it’s sold as the Sarasa SE. The Sarasa Dry has a cooler styling than the Sarasa SE but has the same quick-drying ink which is praised by lefties for its lack of smudging while maintaining excellent color vibrancy.
