Colorverse Saturn V is a blue tone in the company’s Spaceward series of fountain pen inks.
Colorverse’s Saturn V is a navy blue ink that is sold in a pair of bottles, on 65 ml the other 15 ml. The bottles are stylized and quite handsome, with a small tail trailing off one side of the bottle.
Saturn V is a pleasing blue color with reasonably quick drying times and low water resistance. It’s a good writer that is easy to read, with a medium flow and no problems with feathering or bleeding, etc. It cleans off reasonably well and is generally well behaved.
On the right paper, Saturn V has nice shading, while not straying far from its navy blue foundation. Some black is visible in the shading, so this is generally considered to be a blue black ink, not simply a dark blue.
Other similar colors in the Spaceward series are Coloverse’ Cat, Proxima B, Quasar, and Supernova.
Saturn V is a nice ink but isn’t particularly distinctive. The Colorverse Spaceward series sets a high bar with its ambitious names but the inks don’t keep up with those lofty goals.
