The Caran d’Ache 825 is disposable version of Caran d’Ache’s iconic 849 ballpoint pen. The 825 is made entirely of plastic, is not refillable, and is might lighter than the 849. The 825 is most popularly seen as a branded pen that is handed out by companies as a promotional item.
The pen is sometimes called the “Eco” despite is being disposable because it is made out of recycled plastic. It’s popular in Switzerland, but not see outside of that country, or at least outside of Europe, very often.
Caran d’Ache describes the refill as being “metal cartridge with a stainless-steel tip, tungsten-carbide rotating ball.” It’s basically a proprietary refill that is the same length as a ISO A2 refill, but with different contours and a thicker tip.
