The Swipe is Twsbi’s entry-level fountain pen which is similar to the Twsbi Go but has multiple filling options. It’s a great starter fountain pen.
The Twsbi Swipe pen is sold in two colors, an opaque grey-ish blue and “smoke” which is a translucent black. The stainless steel nib is sold in EF, F, M, B, and a 1.1 mm stub, which is the typical Twsbi range that you’d see in pens like the Eco and Go.
The Swipe, which sells for about $27 which is around the same price as the Eco fountain pen, is actually a pen kit which includes a plastic case, one ink cartridge, a spare spring for the spring-style converter, and a piston converter. This system gives beginners and introduction to the three most popular fountain pen filling mechanisms. The cartridge is a propriety Twsbi cartridges
The Swipe fountain pen uses a plastic material that is very similar to that of the Go fountain pen. That is to say that the plastic isn’t as nice or as thick as that found in the Eco or Diamond 580, but it’s perfectly acceptable and holds up well over time.
The stainless steel nib is stiff and smooth — it’s perfect for beginners who want a nib that writes nicely but you don’t have to be fussy with. Mine, which is a medium, came perfectly tuned from the factory and was writing within seconds of opening the box.
