Ysmart TiPen 2.0

The TiPen 2.0 is a tiny, titanium pen that it built to be carried. It was launched on Kickstarter in December 2020 with an expected ship date of May 2021.

At just 4 cm long and 6 grams, this pen is beyond tiny. It’s a super-portable “everyday carry” style pen that is meant to me kept on you. Given its size, it can go in a pocket, but it’s better suited for attached to a lanyard or being kept in a pouch because of its size. It’s even well-suited for being placed on a keychain, which is great for portability but extending writing sessions will be out of the question.

The writing tip of the pen is actually a ball made of silicon nitride ceramic (Si3N4). This is a super-hard ceramic that is practically indestructible, which means the TiPen is a pen, but it can also be used as a puncture tool, pry bar, or anything else you’d use a tiny, pointy piece of titanium for.

The pen uses a replaceable D1 refill so it’s easy to swap the refill or replace it over time, despite the uniqueness of the design. Even with the small refill, this is one of the smallest pens we’ve seen, even smaller than the Zebra T-3 or the Zebra Slide Mini.

The pen will be sold in four laser-engraved textures: smooth with logo (model 950), half textured (951), full textured (952), and diamond pattern full texture (953).

The TiPen 2.0 builds on the success of Ysmart’s original TiPen, which was a Kickstarter hit with nearly 2000 backers and raising over $75,000 when it launched in the summer of 2019.
