The Zebra Blen 3C is a 3-color multi-pen version of the Zebra Blen, one of Unsharpen.com’s picks for best pens.
Zebra announced the pen in an announcement on the company Youtube channel on February 6, 2020. The Blen 3C will go on sale on March 16, 2020 for 440 JPY, or about $5.
The Blen 3C will be sold in 0.5 mm and 0.7 mm sizes. It will include black, blue, and red ink.
Like the previous Blen the pen was designed by the design agency nendo, which is based in Japan and led by Oki Sato.
The Blen 3C come about a year and a half after the release of the original single-color Blen, which was a hit at the time and is still a fantastic pen.
The new 3C will have the same vibration-resistant properties as the original, something that is much harder to pull off in a multi-pen, thanks to the more complex inner workings.
The 3C looks to be quite slim for a multi-pen (Zebra has not shared pen dimensions yet) and is said to have a creative knock (button) design. The most uses color, black, was thoughtfully placed in the rear ( opposite of the clip, where it’s most accessible to a right-handed user) and it’s larger than the others. The knocks are said to use soft rubber so they are quiet when they are pushed down and retracted.

The Blen 3C will use the SNC-0.5 and SNC-0.7mm refills. These are newly announced refills that will ship alongside the pen.
Zebra Blen 3C Features
The Blen 3C will have a few headline features, most of which will be similar to that of the original pen.
The most important of these features is a anti-vibration tip. This will function by reducing the gap between the writing tip and the pen body. Rattling because of a gap here is a top complaint of pen buyers, so this is a thoughtful feature.
The Blen 3C will have a weighted tip, like the original. The use of a heavy brass insert adds weight to the writing end of the pen and makes more accurate writing with better control and less shake. This also lowers the center of gravity of the pen which in turns aid accuracy.
