The Zebra V-301 is an affordable fountain pen in the company’s Steel Series.
The V-301 is a refillable cartridge-based fountain pen that is easy to find and sells for under $5. It’s a popular beginner’s fountain pen. The pen is known for its steel body which matches other popular Zebra pens, like the F-301 ballpoint and R-301 rollerball.
The pen has as sturdy steel nib which is hooded. It looks a bit odd, but it generally works OK. It’s by no means a great writer, but it’s tougher than a standard fountain pen nib. It’s also very low key, so when you are using this pen it’s almost impossible for others to tell you are using a fountain pen.
The V-301 uses Zebra’s V refills, three of which are commonly included with the pen. They are sold separately as well. The refills are sold in both blue and black. The refills appear to be proprietary but the pen will accept Lamy T10 refills.
Then pen is only sold in a single nib size, which the equivalent of a medium point.
