The DelGuard Type-ER, or DelGuard ER for short, is the quirky neighbor of the DelGuard mechanical pencil family. It has a high-end extendable eraser, a rubber grip like the DelGuard GR, and no clip.
While the name of the pencil isn’t explained, it seems likely that the “ER” is short for “eraser” as this pencil’s main feature is a hidden eraser that extends when the pencil is upside down and hides when it’s right-side up.
The DelGuard ER has a rubberized grip like the Type-GR but the ER’s grip isn’t as soft. The ER also has the same diameter as the standard DelGuard, as opposed to using the wider (13.0 mm) size found in the GR.
On the plus size the ER is one of the cheaper DelGuards, generally selling for about $8, where the normal model is $5 and the GR can be twice that.
