Schneider Gelion 39

The Schneider Gelion 39 is a Parker-style G2 refill that adheres to ISO 27668-2 standards. It uses a gel ink which is not very long lasting but has great color quality and seems to pop right off the page.

The Gelion 39 is only sold in a medium size and write with a 0.4 mm line width. The ink is waterproof and light-resistant.

The Gelion 39 is a popular, highly acclaimed Parker-style refill, as well as one of the best Parker-style gel refills. Most refills in this size use an oil-based ballpoint in while this one has the ability to convert the pen to a gel (and a great writing gel at that).

Gelion 39 refills are known for their dark black and bright blue, both of which are excellent writers. The main downside of this refill is that it wears out quickly, especially relative to a traditional ballpoint pen.

This refill is a very close match to the Pierre Cardin refills in the same size, which many people praise online but remain rather hard to find in the US.
