Pilot’s Iroshizuku Ama-iro is a sky blue fountain pen ink in the luxury ink line.
Iroshizuku Ama-iro is a solid ink and a good writer. It flows nicely and cleans easily, like the rest of the line.
Iroshizuku Ama-iro is not the most practical ink in the line, as the blue shade is a bit light for work and office use. That said it is about in the middle of the line here, being better for daily use than something like Fuyu-gaki or Kosumosu, but perhaps less practical than Kon-peki.
This is lighter than your typical blue, more akin to Lamy’s Pacific Blue than to a royal blue or Water 4001 blue. Still, it’s a nice ink for journaling and a fun variation from everyday colors that does not sacrifice greatly on legibility.
This is is not water-resistant and has little shading.
