Pilot Iroshizuku Fuyu-syogun

Pilot Iroshizuku Fuyu-syogun is a lighter grey fountain pen ink in Pilot’s family of luxury inks. The ink is sometimes referred to as “Old Man Winter” thanks to the wintery color, which is reminiscent of a cloudy sky.

Pilot Iroshizuku Fuyu-syogun is a grey ink with undertones of blue, and even some purple. It’s a  pleasant grey that is rather light for writing, but good for art purposes. When applied on the heavier side it is legible on white paper but it’s not the most readable of the Iroshizuku inks.

Like the rest of the inks in the family, Iroshizuku Fuyu-syogun writes nicely, flows well, and is easy to clean. Being a lighter color is easier to see shading when it’s applied in with a larger nib size, which can be a lot of fun as the ink will look a lot different when using a fine nib compared to a broad or stub.
