The Cross Edge is a capless, slide-to-open gel ink pen that is pocketable but not as small as many other telescoping pens.
The Cross Edge is a telescopic mini pen that expanded to be a full-sized pen. It uses Cross’ proprietary refill design which means it includes gel ink, but can be changed to be a ballpoint or fineliner.
This is a small pen, but it’s not one of our best mini pens because of the plastic-body and relatively high street price of about $25.
The pen has an interesting design but suffers from a lightweight plastic body and imprecise feeling open and closing action. The size of the pen means that the telescoping action is really more of a way to extend and retract the refill than it is an expanding action because the difference in size between being fully closed and open is minimal.
