The Uni Jetstream Prime Single (Rotating) is one of the most confusing products in the pen world. Part of this is because of the translation from Japanese to English, but it’s also do to the simple fact that this pen doesn’t seem like it needs to exist.
This pen is often translated as the Jetstream Prime Single Rotating, but is most commonly referred to as the “Jetstream Prime Twist.”
The Jetream Prime is Uni’s series of Japanese executive pens. The Single is the single-color part of the family. This pen is most commonly sold in a knock (click) model but it’s so sold in this, the rotating model. This is the more executive-seeming version of the pen as clicky pens typically aren’t seen as being as classy as silent rotating ones.
The black color of this pen has a matte paint while the other colors are more glossy. All of the normal pens in the series have silver-colored, metal hardware.
On October 17, 2019 Mitsubishi Pencil Co. Ltd., makers of Uni pens, announced the Noble series of Jetstream Prime Rotating Single. This special edition pen would have bronze-colored hardware and a self-healing paint job that should be highly scratch resistant. The special editions colors announced were Noble Brown, Noble Navy, and Noble Black. The models of this this special edition pen will be SXK-5009-05.
The Jetsteam Prime Single Twist uses the Parker-style G2 refill version of a Jetstream ink, the SXR-600-05.
