The Cap-O-Matic is an affordable, rugged, retractable ballpoint pen that uses a Fisher Space Pen pressurized refill. It’s a cheaper alternative to the Space Pen.
The Cap-O-Matic (sometimes spelled “Cap-o-Matic” but always with a letter, not a zero) ranges from about $9 to $35 depending on the model you buy.
At the low-end you have a plastic barrel Cap-O-Matic, which is one of the most affordable pens Fisher sells. In the mid-range you have an all-black “stealth” model, particularly the popular M4B Non-Reflective Matte Black model. At the high-end you have the raw brass Cap-O-Matic which is a bit less rugged but looks great and ages nicely with use.
The pen uses the Fisher pressurized ballpoint refill so it can write upside, underwater, in space, and in extreme temperatures.
