Moleskine Classic Hardcover Sizes
The Moleskine Classic (pictured at the top) is, in all likelihood, the notebook you are curious about. This is the hardcover, sewn-binding, standard model with a leather-like cover. It’s the Moleskine notebook. The popular Moleskine Classic notebook is sold in these sizes:
- Pocket – 9 x 14 cm / 3.5 x 5.5 in
- Medium – 11.5 x 17.5 cm / 4.5 x 6.9 in
- Large – 13 x 21 cm / 5 x 8.25 in
- XL – 19 x 25 cm / 7.5 x 9.75 in

- XXL – 21.59 x 27.94 cm / 8.5 x 11 in
The most popular Moleskine size is the Large (5 x 8.25 inches). This is followed by the Pocket (3.5 x 5.5 inches).

If you prefer a softcover notebook there are a number of sizes available as well. The most popular of the softcover, “cahier” styles notebooks is actually known as the Cahier Journal. It’s sold in the following sizes:

The Largest Moleskine
If you are in search of the largest Moleskine notebook then you should be looking for any Moleskine sold in the A3 size. A3 is a massive 29.7 x 42 cm. Moleskine sells A3 notebooks in the following styles:
- Classic Hardcover Watercolor notebook
- Classic Hardcover Watercolor album
- Classic Hardcover Sketchbook
- Classic Hardcover Sketchpad
These huge A3 Moleskine notebooks are aimed at artist uses so they have heavyweight paper and have fewer pages than a typical Moleskine, usually either 48 or 96 pages. They tend to sell from about $30 to $40.
The next largest size Moleskine is A4 and then the Moleskine XXL is just slightly smaller than A4.
The advantage of Moleskin A4 and XXL over A3 is that that you get a very large size and you can get notebook notebooks for writing. This includes the Moleskine Pro Notebook and Classic Notebook Hardcover.
