The Pilot Kakuno is a entry-level fountain pen that is basically Pilot’s version of a student pen.
The Kakuno uses a steel nib that is quite similar to that found on the Pilot Explorer and the Pilot Metropolitan, though the Kakuno’s does have a whimsical face on it.
The Kakuno is sold in a white, black or grey body, but does have a number of cap colors available. The colors include light yellow, purple, pink, red, and orange. As of 2018 the Kakuno was also sold in a fully clear demonstrator version.
The Kakuno is not a good fit for eyedropper conversion, as there is a hole at the top of the barrel.
