The Pilot CON-20 was a aerometric, or pump-style, fountain pen converter sold with some Pilot pens. The basic construction of the converter was a rubber bladder inside of a metal shell with a press plate on the side. You’d submerge the bottom of the converter in ink, press the plate and the ink would bubble. After you would let go and the spring-loaded press plate would suck ink into the bladder making for a cheap, but not very good converter.

The Schmidt DSM 2007 is a mechanical pencil converter For Parker-style G2 pens. It’s basically the full internals of a mechanical pencil made modular and fit into the space of a Parker-style G2 refill. This self-contained unit sells for under $5 and while it won’t fit every Parker-style pen, it will fit many of them.
The DSM 2007 is a mechanism for professional pen manufacturers, pen resellers, pen turns, and other pros, but it’s affordable enough and easy enough to find that it’s a fun pick-up for hobbyists as well.

The EQ Surari is an excellent 1.0 mm emulsion ink refill from Zebra. The emulsion design combines water and oil into a hybrid-style ink that is quick-drying and super smooth. The emulsion ink has many of the advantages of a ballpoint ink but the smoothness of a gel.

The JLV-0.4 is the dye-based gel ink refill sold in the Sarasa Dry pen. This is one of Zebra’s DRYJELL inks, which are dye-based and said to dry up to 85% faster than a traditional link. This makes the refill ideal for lefthanded writes as it is highly smudge- and smear-resistant.
