Pilot Iroshizuku Murasaki-shikibu Fountain Pen Ink

Pilot Iroshizuku Murasaki-shikibu is a purple fountain pen ink with the most confusing name in the famous Iroshizuku family of inks.

The name of this ink known as  “Deep Lavender” and, true to its, name, this is a mid-purple today that really do look like a dark lavender color. It’s pure purple with few other tones readily visible when writing with it, but some blue can be seen in the ink chromatography.

The name translates to “Beautyberry” which is technically known as Callicarpa Japonica, a wonderfully purple berry that grows in Japan. It is known for adding color to Japanese throughout the autumn.
