The Ohto Horizon, sometimes called the Ohto Horizon EU or the Ohto Horizon Needle Tip, is a modern-looking all-metal pen. It’s made of aluminum and has a distinct click and loud, and snappy return after pressing a side button.
The Horizon has an aluminum body with a anodized finish. The front piece is metal as well, as is the top button.
The Horizon’s flip is stiff to the point of being useless, but it looks great.
The price of the Ohto Horizon has fluctuated wildly on Amazon, but is more consistent at other online retailers. Expect to pay about $12-15 for this pen from a dedicated pen store. Amazon and Ebay prices can go from $7 up to $25 depending on current supply and your color preference.
The Best Refill for the Ohto Horizon
The Horizon comes with a short, plastic-bodied refill that isn’t commonly seen in the US. Ohto, Pilot, and Uni all make compatible refills, but these aren’t ones people will commonly have around or can pull out of a pen you happen to own, so a special purchase is often required.
Our favorite refill for the Horizon these days is the Pilot BTRF-6F.
